What is Glen
Arts?

The Neverending Glen concept began in 2014 as part of Kelburn Garden Party Festival. A unique extension of the festival, which offers an outdoor gallery where Contemporary Art meets ancient Scottish woodland.

Now, Glen Arts is developing as a year round project to support artists and the creation of their work. It has grown out of the commitment from Kelburn Arts to support artists working in contemporary practice in public space. Since 2010 Kelburn Arts and Festival has offered opportunities for artists to develop their work and skills through commissioning, programming  and creating training programmes for young artists and designers. These have primarily been delivered through the annual Kelburn Garden Party Festival.

Glen Arts is expanding The Neverending Glen beyond the Festival, to offer new opportunities such as Art Residencies, workshops, talks, and a permanent Art Trail that takes the public through the Neverending Glen and can be explored all year round.

What is our
Mission?

  • To support artists and the creation of art in all forms and at all stages - from experimentation and investigation to completion.

  • To promote site-specific work that responds to the rich historical land.

  • To Bring artists from all levels of experience to exhibit together.

  • To commission artists to create permanent works of art, as well as offering a Residency Program for emerging Artists to explore and experiment through mentorship.

  • To create a permanent art trail for visitors to discover all year round.

  • To offer culture and arts to the local community and make art in all forms more accessible.

Glen Arts Residency

In 2024 we started Kelburn Glen Arts Residency.

It is aimed at artists of all disciplines interested in producing site specific artworks, interacting with the landscape and exhibiting outdoors. It was created as an initiative  to support emerging artists to develop their artistic practice and cultivate a community of cross-pollination and support.

Artists showcase their work in a unique and diverse outdoor art exhibition as part of Kelburn Garden Party Festival.

Support our Program

We currently have two private funders who support our program. All their support goes into the artists and residence making their work and being part of this exhibition.  We're incredibly grateful to these individuals - Hamish Boyle and Justin D'Agostino, who help fund our Artists in Residence and wider commissioned works.

If you would like to support us, donate or help in other ways - please get in touch by emailing us at neverendingglen@kelburnarts.com.

It was such an incredible time coming to install at the Glen, such a warm supportiv community of creatives, I felt very seen and supported and am so grateful for that, thank you. After such an intense period with challenges to face during the production it was such a relief for it all to flow so smoothly on the land, thanks to everyone kindness, calmness, and a collective sense of focus which definitely influenced that I think.

Kelburn is a very special place. Being my first time I wasn’t sure what to expect other than so many people telling me over the years how amazing it is. You were all so helpful and support of the cube. It was wonderful to see how many people engaged with it. The rain did not stop the excitement and the vibration of arts and visual mix with music was spectacular. The work on display was fantastic. I don’t think any other festival matches on variety.

Outstanding festival!

Bringing the Blanket Bog to the Neverending Glen was such an enriching experience and has really helped the development of our project. We learnt so much from participants and the feedback wad overwhelmingly positive from this festival crowd.

A never-ending stream of conversation and inspiration!

The NEG team were also really supportive and good communicators amongst what is no doubt a stressful work environment. Thank you NEG!

Neverending Glen is possibly the first time I’ve been able to create something specifically for display at an arts festival.

The experience has given me a whole new look at the work I do and hope to do more of in the future.
