Pearl Kinnear is an interdisciplinary artist based in Glasgow, Scotland. Her subject matter is influenced greatly by social issues and the true value of things deemed inconsequential. Collaboration with other artists from different disciplines have fed directly into her themes and resulted in crossovers with music, film and theatre productions. The work made by the artist travels between representative and abstract work sometimes made in an instantaneous and responsive manner as live art and she has made live art as part of festivals and events in Scotland, England and France. The visual language developed throughout is exploring topics and can vary but is anchored to signature mark making, and everything produced being an extension of drawing.
This is a collection of concrete casts positioning the urban environment within the natural environment of the Glen. The joining of the two is in reference to the Kelburns Festival and the shapes, although abstract in appearance, are all components of one larger piece that layers graffiti with patterns of rural plant and insect life.
