Oli Sword

Oli Sword (aka Weesacs) is a Scottish-born multi-disciplinary creator based in Cornwall. Using old craft techniques and industrial processes he creates conceptual and often functional bodies of work. Working with nature rather than against it, Sword uses reclaimed and locally sourced materials, placing an emphasis on lowering his carbon footprint. Sword's work responds to his first point of inspiration - his relationship with the surrounding landscape and the comparison to the rolling hills of the Scottish Lowlands where his childhood was spent exploring.
With a practical mindset and a strong determination to create, Sword aims to fashion striking bodies of work which display issues that he feels passionate about. He is interested in retracing humankind's connection to the ecosystem that surrounds us, inviting audiences to reconnect with wildlife, and highlighting the importance of nature for our future and how disconnected we have become as a population.
