Freya Pellie

Freya Pellie (she/they) is a multidisciplinary performance artist and circus coach, with a background in environmental science and marine research. She has performed and taught internationally and has garnered a substantial online following through her quirky movement style, creative character concepts, and limb-based brain teasers. As an artist, Freya strives to create authentic work which is inherently playful, emotionally resonant, reshapes perceptions, and weaves in environmental and social topics in an accessible format.

Freya has worked with many stalwarts of Scotland’s performance scene, including DeLighters, Rowan Environmental Arts, Think Circus, and Oceanallover, as well as self-producing work for Urras nan Tursachan and in collaboration with Matrix Circus. She is also an advocate for social circus (i.e., using circus as a tool for social good), serving as a board member for Think Circus SCIO.
