‘The Otherworld Openings’ will feature ten distinctive 'wall head' sculptures, all different tellings of reimagined folklore as an expansion on Dawn’s 'Call of the Morrigan' project. Created from various clay types, each sculpture will feature unique colours and finishes, with some featuring a custom wood ash glaze made from locally sourced timber in the Largs region, enriching the artwork with local context. Installed within the estate's natural setting, these sculptures will harmonise with the setting, highlighting their connection to Scottish history and landscape. As visitors explore the area, the gradual reveal of these sculptures will create an immersive experience and a deeper reflection on the dialogue between art, folklore, and nature. This project promises a multifaceted interaction with art, blending storytelling and form within its geographical and cultural backdrop.
