Background:
‘Kelburn Raving Stravaiging’ aims to introduce a unique, psychogeographic storytelling game to the Kelburn Festival and Glen area. This innovative experience encourages players to draw upon their personal ideas, dreams, and reflections from their exploration of the festival and the surrounding landscapes. By integrating elements from various art installations and locations encountered along the way, participants will engage in a rich tapestry of storytelling. The game will incorporate educational components, weaving in facts about Kelburn's nature and landscape. A specially crafted trail will guide players through the Glen and festival grounds, created in consultation with site custodians and collaborating artists to ensure a magical and immersive journey. For example, it might contain local folklore, such as tales of a Kelpie from the Kel burn, will enrich the narrative. Players will have the option to navigate using a web app on their smartphones or traditional paper maps, offering a choice of digital interaction or a more tactile experience. The app would provide extra audio-visual enhancements, clues, and stories, while paper maps will lead participants to discover unexpected wonders at their own pace.
